* Do not allow worldly thoughts and concerns disturb your mind. Discharge your duties as and when they present themselves to you. But fasten your mind ever at the feet of the Lord.

* He who is soft and weak-minded like the puffed rice soaked in milk, is good for nothing. He cannot achieve anything great. But the strong and virile one is heroic. he is the accomplisher of everything in life...

* Words always take the colour of a person's mind, wholesome or unwholesome...

* Inordinate zeal is very often the precursor of a soul-damping depression....

* Only he who can manipulate his mind as he likes, can gain mastery over sleep...

Life is rather like a tin of sardines - we're all of us looking for the key.

Life is like a sewer. What you get out of it depends on what you put into it.

TOM LEHRER

If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn't brood. I'd type a little faster.

ISAAC ASIMOV

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

HELEN KELLER

Our lives are like a candle in the wind.

* He who realizes God in his heart is able to reaize him outside too. He who has not known him within himself, cannot cognize him elsewhere, therefore, he who sees God in his heart, sees him everywhere...

* He alone is a knowledgable who has realized God. He becomes like a babe after God-realiazation. The baby has no individuality of its own. Therefore, divinity beams through it....

MessageSujet: God is light   prOverbs, sayings & wOrds Of wisdOm Icon_minitimeJeu 1 Fév - 10:48

GOD is the light of the heavens and the earth.
The allegory of His light is that of a concave mirror behind a lamp that is placed inside a glass container.
The glass container is like a bright, pearl-like star.
The fuel thereof is supplied from a blessed oil-producing tree, that is neither eastern, nor western.
Its oil is almost self-radiating; needs no fire to ignite it.
Light upon light.
GOD guides to His light whoever wills (to be guided).
GOD thus cites the parables for the people.
GOD is fully aware of all things...[24:35]

Another allegory is that of being in total darkness in the midst of a violent ocean, with waves upon waves, in addition to thick fog.
Darkness upon darkness - if he looked at his own hand, he could barely see it.
Whomever GOD deprives of light, will have no light.
</A>[24:40]

GOD controls the night and day.
This should be a lesson for those who possess eyes.

Alexander pope:

Happy the man whose wish and care
A few paternal acres bound,
Content to breathe his native air
In his own ground.

Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

Good nature and good sense must ever join;
To err is human, to forgive divine.

Vast chain of Being, which from God began,
Natures aethereal, human, angel, man,
Beast, bird, fish, insect! what no eye can see,
No glass can reach; from Infinite to thee,
From thee to Nothing!—
